Tis The Season (For Football)

Its back

We're finally here. Football is back! We have waited seven long months, and I personally have been itching at the neck in anticipation for the regular season to start. The season kicks off in Boston as the World Champion New England Patriots take on the Kansas City Chiefs. The game airs on NBC at 5:30PM (PST)

Where do i look?

-Uh Oh Edelman

Opening night is going to be very interesting for me. Both teams have some young or new talent that they will look to lean on offensively this season. The Patriots lost Julian Edelman in their third preseason game vs the Detroit Lions. Edelman is out for the season having torn his ACL on a non contact play.

-Cooks Catching Passes

Not to fear Pats fans, Tom Brady is looking at the shiny new toy he has in Brandin Cooks. It will be interesting to see how Cooks fares in the Patriots offense. Last season with the Saint Cooks was said to have some issues with the amount of Targets he was receiving, and much like the Saints, The Patriots like to spread the ball around the field. The good news for Cooks is he will not be sharing the field with the Saints rookie Phenom Michael Thomas who most would say stole the spotlight down in New Orleans last season. With Edelman out of the picture Cooks is looking like the most talented WR in New England (and that could spell good Fantasy numbers folks).

-Chiefs RB's In The Hunt

With Spencer Ware's season ending knee injury, it was looking in the preseason like Kareem Hunt was taking over KC but the sound around the league says Hunt will be sharing snaps with Charcandrick West and CJ Spiller in the backfield this season (which could be messy for fantasy drafters and owners). I am still interested in watching the rookie in the regular season to see if he can't separate himself enough from the other RB's on the roster to win over majority of the snaps this season and develop into KC's true number one option.

Other Games On Our Radar

Seahawks @ Packers - Sun. September 10th 1:25PM (PST) FOX

Watching these two power house teams go at it is always good football. If not a little controversial. We are looking at the Seahawks rotating backfield, as well as any further improvement on the Jimmy Graham front.

As well as watching Aaron Rodgers with newly aquired TE Martellus Bennet and a healthy Jordy Nelson, and the defensive loss of Julius Peppers.

Giants @ Cowboys - Sun. September 10th 5:30PM (PST) NBC

Two teams on the resurrection list. Giants are looking at a hopefully improved defensive unit, as well Eli getting another shot on offense with both Odell Beckham JR. and Sterling Shepard in the mix again with the addition of Brandon Marshall we are excited about this offense.

The Cowboys have Elliot who has for the moment dodged his suspension. Can that offense recreate the magic of last season? And we are looking to see if Dak will pass the ball a little more often this season.

Saints @ Vikings - Mon. September 11 4:10PM ESPN

There's a little bit of bias for this game being on the radar ill admit. BUT, this preseason the Saints starting defensive unit was looking like a brand new unit. We are excited to see if that carries over to the regular season. We all know Sean Payton and Drew Brees don't need help offensively, but that didnt stop them from acquiring Adrian Peterson this offseason. We will be looking at the snap count for AD and the size of the chip on his shoulder he has playing his old team. The Vikings had a nice suprise last season as Sam Bradford had a pretty good season, now with some young, talented, and healthy wide receivers we will see what kind of offense they put up this season.
